Ms's Robb, Dock, and Nutting were concerned about the lack of standards for nursing education. At the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, Ms. Robb facilitated a discussion with a group of superintendents of training schools abo ut the profession of nursing and the need to improve and standardize nursing education. As a result, the American Society of Superintendents of Training Schools was formed to promote educational standards. Linda Richards was elected President. This first major nursing organization became the NLN in 1952.
